The TCEA Academy is an opportunity for those who are employed, underemployed or seeking to upskill or reskill to gain transferable and foundational skills.

The training is designed to enable you to hit the ground running on day one of the job. It will provide you with a strong foundation for the job, building the core skills and capabilities expected in the role.

To be eligible to apply for the TCEA Academy you must:

  • be eligible to work in the UK and satisfy the Nationality requirements for appointment to the NICS
  • have at least 3 GCSEs including a minimum of Grade B in Maths, Grade C in English (or Level 2 Essential Skills in place of GSCE English), Grade C in a Science subject (Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Double Award Science)
  • have access to a form of transport which will permit you to meet the requirements of the post in full
  • successful candidates will be required to travel on official duty frequently and regularly throughout Northern Ireland
  • this includes travel to remote and rural locations, often inaccessible by public transport

If offered a place on the Academy, you will be asked to provide a copy of your GCSE qualifications.
