Help Shape the Future of your Town Centre

Help Shape the Future of your Town Centre

Across our towns, vacant and underused buildings present real challenges — but they also offer significant opportunities to support local businesses, town centre living, heritage, and more vibrant, sustainable places.

To ensure that future investment is well-targeted and delivers meaningful impact, Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, in partnership with Turley, is undertaking a survey to gather local insight and evidence on vacancy and dereliction across our town centres.

Have your say on vacant and derelict buildings in your town

We are inviting residents, businesses, property owners and stakeholders to share their views on:

  • How vacancy and dereliction affect your town centre
  • The key barriers to bringing empty buildings back into use
  • What changes or opportunities you would like to see explored in the future from shops and leisure to community uses or new ideas that would attract young people, families or older residents

Your feedback will play a vital role in shaping:

  • A detailed market analysis and scoping study of vacancy levels across the Borough
  • The development of a potential future grant programme to support the refurbishment and reuse of vacant properties
  • Wider regeneration priorities for our town centres

The survey is quick to complete, and all responses will be treated in confidence.

This is your opportunity to help shape realistic, evidence-led actions that reflect the needs and character of your town.

Have your say today and help shape the future of your town centre.

Closing date for this survey is 19 June.
