The Investment Fund for Northern Ireland (IFNI) is part of a series of Nations and Regions Investment Funds totalling £1.6 billion, launched by the British Business Bank.

The fund covers the whole of Northern Ireland, including rural, coastal and urban areas.

With £70 million of funding for the area, it creates opportunities for new and growing businesses, boosting
productivity, innovation and jobs in the area.

IFNI provides funding to appointed fund managers who offer two different finance options of loans ranging from £25,000 to £2 million and equity investments up to £5 million.

We offer two different commercial finance options designed to tackle identified funding gaps across Northern Ireland:

Debt Finance
£25,000 - £2 million Business loans

For businesses that can demonstrate growth potential.

Equity Finance
Up to £5 million

Early stage equity funding for businesses with ambitious plans for growth.

You may be able to apply for funding from IFNI if your business is based in Northern Ireland or if it has significant activity there.

IFNI’s appointed Fund Managers are open to applications from innovative businesses across a range of sectors from manufacturing, agrifood and engineering to cyber security, fintech and sciences. From start-ups and early stage businesses to those with expansion and growth plans, if you can demonstrate growth potential,
your business may be eligible. *
