Log onto Christmas

Christmas will look a lot different this year but we still want to spread some festive cheer across our Borough.

Whilst we cannot gather together for our annual Christmas Tree Switch ons we still plan to bring you these virtually with our 'Log onto Christmas' programme.

A ‘Virtual Christmas’ will be organised for each of the Christmas tree ‘switch ons’ across the seven District Electoral Areas (DEA’s). Plans for this festive programme ‘Log onto Christmas’ include an interactive children’s story with Mr Hullabaloo, live music, radio presenter, live Santa appearance and lots of prizes and giveaways throughout the show.

Each Virtual Switch-On event will be available on this page on the night of the event. Alternatively, you can join us on our Facebook page, or our YouTube channel.

Thank you to all the boys and girls who entered our Christmas Card competition. The competition is now closed and no late applications will be accepted.

The Mayor will select his favourite entry and this will be printed and used as the Council's Christmas card for 2020. The overall winner will also receive a £100 Amazon gift voucher from the Mayor and one year's MORE Family Leisure Membership.

In addition to the overall winner there will be an area winner announced at each of the Council's seven Christmas Light switch on ceremonies which will take place online this year. These winners will receive a fun filled stocking full of treats which will be delivered directly to their door by the main man himself  'Santa'  during the virtual switch on event.
