Community Planning

Community Planning is the key organisations in your area - public sector agencies, community groups, sports clubs, businesses and others - working together to deliver better services and better outcomes for local people.

Community Planning is a new way of working together. It’s about working better together to use all the resources available to achieve the best results.

Love Living Here

The Love Living Here Community Plan was first launched in 2017, developed through strong collaboration between local communities and statutory agencies. In response to significant global events, including the Covid-19 pandemic and the Cost of Living Crisis, the Plan has been reviewed and refreshed. This revised delivery plan focuses on 17 targeted actions across four key themes – People, Place, Prosperity, and Planet – aiming to better meet the needs of our residents in today’s challenging environment.

Anti-Poverty Strategy

Poverty has affected a growing number of people across Antrim and Newtownabbey. In response, the Council established a cross-party Anti-Poverty Steering Group, which developed a coordinated strategy aimed at reducing poverty and improving the lives of residents. The strategy focuses on empowering individuals, enhancing economic opportunities, promoting social inclusion, and improving access to essential services.
