Message

On behalf of the people of County Antrim, I would like to express my deep sadness at the passing of Her Majesty, The Queen.

Queen Elizabeth II’s full title was “Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith”.

Queen Elizabeth II will forever be remembered for a life dedicated to duty and for her sustained and selfless service, stretching over 70 years, having ascended The Throne on 6th
February 1952. The first British Monarch in history to have celebrated a Platinum Jubilee, an achievement which may well remain unrivalled.

Her Majesty was a great source of strength and inspiration to us all: during times of conflict; terror; hardship; and grief. Never was this more apparent than during the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, Queen Elizabeth II will also be remembered as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and, on behalf of the people of County Antrim, I pass on my deepest sympathy to His Majesty, The King and the rest of The Royal Family.
It remains my greatest privilege to have served as Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim, since 2019, and I will forever remain her humble servant. We give thanks for a full and remarkable life. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

God Save The King, Long Live The King. 

After a life of service and devotion to the nation, I am deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.  Having acceded to the throne on sixth of February 1952, she has been a constant in all of our lives with many of us remembering no other Monarch.  She has lived a life of service which has been demonstrated by her sense of duty, and her deep faith. It is fitting, that in our sorrow, her life is publicly acknowledged and celebrated by us as we reflect on the scale of her contribution to our nation.  We are indebted that her service was so long, and we were blessed to witness it.   She is now with beloved husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.  Thank you Ma’am from the bottom of our hearts.

On behalf of the citizens of Antrim and Newtownabbey, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Her Majesty The Queen’s entire family circle at this sad time.

She was so loved and respected by the people of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and the World, that her legacy of faultless service and leadership will remain forever.

On a personal level, I will try to provide the positive, compassionate leadership that was the hallmark of Her Majesty’s 70 year reign.  We will never see her like again.

Sleep well our Noble Queen.

Unwavering in devotion and loyalty to the nation and the Commonwealth, our beloved monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, leaves a legacy unrivalled in the annals of history.

Her personal faith in Almighty God, of which she often spoke, grounded and upheld her throughout her long and glorious reign.
Her abiding presence over 70 years, uplifted and sustained the nation through many of its darkest hours.

Her love of Northern Ireland and its people was evident during her frequent visits here. Her Majesty will forever be remembered with deep affection by her loyal Ulster subjects who today mourn the passing of their beloved monarch.

United in grief, we remember in prayer the members of the Royal Family and pray God’s abiding comfort upon them all.
 

I would extend my deepest condolences to the family of our beloved Queen at this sad time. 

The terrible shock of hearing this news tonight has filled our hearts with sadness but we also give thanks and praise to God for the life Her Majesty has led and for her 7 decades of selfless service to the people of her beloved United Kingdom and Commonwealth. 

Along with her recently departed dear husband Prince Philip we will never see their likes again. 

You will be forever in our hearts.

My sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to members of the Royal Family on the passing of the Queen. I pay tribute to her long life dedicated to the service of her country. She was much loved and greatly respected at home, and around the world, for her devotion to service. May she rest in peace.

I wish to extend my condolences to the family of Queen Elizabeth II, her children, grandchildren and wider family circle. I wish to especially acknowledge the profound sorrow of our neighbours from within the unionist community here in Antrim and Newtownabbey who will feel her loss deeply.

Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Queen Elizabeth this evening.

Her loss will be felt acutely by people across our island. Even the blessing of a long life does not make the burden of saying good-bye any lighter.

Queen Elizabeth was a hugely consequential figure touched by the pain of conflict in Ireland but who, like the people of our island, helped shape a path toward peace.

My thoughts are with her family and all those for whom the Queen held a cherished place in their lives and hearts. May she rest in peace. 

On behalf of the staff of the Council, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to His Majesty The King and the rest of the Royal Family on the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen will be remembered as the longest reigning Monarch in British History, serving the nation for seventy years, something we are unlikely to ever see again.

Her determination and dedication was unrivalled and her loss will be felt across the world.

My deepest condolences to the Royal Family, the people of the UK, members of the Commonwealth Realm & our friends in Gilbert’s Sister City Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council of Northern Ireland.

The Queen’s humility, service & dedication to her people, spanning 7 decades, are testaments to her extraordinary leadership.

I remember when I was a child, Blue Peter had a competition to design the official logo for The Queen's Diamond Jubilee 10 years ago. I never won, but I remember being excited just to enter the competition. Thank you for your service, Ma'am. May you rest in peace.

I am truly saddened and tearful to learn of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Our beloved Monarch was dedicated and devoted to a lifetime of service, bringing us light and hope through many times of darkness and uncertainty. It was with great sadness that I watched as the news broke on the Queen's passing. A much loved Monarch but more than that a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who managed to juggle all the family duties along with those of being Queen. The only Monarch we have known, Queen Elizabeth II will rightly go down in history as having led our ever changing Isles through an amazing era. It was a privilege to part witness your historic reign. Long Live The King.

The Queen was the most amazing lady that ever lived and never put a foot wrong. Her memory will go on for ever.

A wonderful Queen of great Christian faith and an example to us all.

We were so sad to hear of Queen Elizabeth II passing. What a legacy she leaves behind. A lady of dignity, peace, duty, selflessness but most of all faith. Who kept her promise to serve the nation for all those years, even in her sickest days. A role model for us all. She has received her unfading Crown of Glory now with the Saints. Greatest condolences to the Royal Family and her Staff and close friends who will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Our country has lost a remarkable woman who was able to show respect to all and was truly respected. The entire world has lost The Queen and I am so sorry that her time here has ended. I send my condolences to her family at this stressful time.
