COP26 Regional Climate Roadshow


Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council were delighted to host a COP26 Regional Climate Roadshow event on Monday 8th November 2021. This was a joint collaboration with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council aimed at raising awareness and understanding of climate change among our residents and businesses.

The Our four themes covered at the event were:

  1. Understanding Climate Change

  2. Reimagining Energy and Fuel – a Local Perspective

  3. What Councils are Doing to Address Climate Change

  4. Supporting and Leading Behavioural Change

A complement of key speakers covered updates on emerging climate science, the local business perspective, how Council is responding to the climate change agenda and how you can get involved. Key speakers include the Met Office, Climate NI, Rivers Agency, GenComm, Energia, Natural World Products, Bryson Recycling, MyNI, Mayors and Council Officers.

This event coincided with the ‘Adaption, Loss and Damage’ themed day at the Glasgow COP26 Conference (1-12 November 2021), which focused on delivering the practical solutions needed to adapt to climate impacts and address loss and damage.
