Flax Fields

By Josephine McCormick

Thu, 4 April - Sat, 27 April
9.00AM - 5.00PM
Flax Gallery

Master printmaker Josephine McCormick has created a series of artworks, some of which are embedded with the sound of flax being woven via QR codes. Not only can the viewer admire the stunning selection of etchings and cyanotypes, but they can also appreciate the hypnotic, rhythmic sound of the linen being woven. Inspired by linen and flax as the fabric of Ireland, every artwork created by Josephine McCormick in Flax Field is unique.

Her work has represented Northern Ireland at international exhibitions in Luxembourg, Japan, Munich and Melbourne and is in private collections in America, Japan, Germany and France. Further work by the artist can be viewed on her website: www.josephinemccormick.com.
