About the JobStart Scheme

This scheme helps to provide employment for 16-24 year olds who are unemployed and referred by DfC. These are all paid job opportunities for a period of 6-9months depending on business needs and aim to provide appointees with the opportunity to learn important skills which will enhance their CV and future career prospects, whilst gaining confidence and transferable employability skills.

How to apply:

  • If you are interested in participating in this scheme, and in receipt of Universal Credit, please contact your 'Work Coach' via your journal.

  • If you are in receipt of Job Seeker’s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Income Support, you should contact your Work Coach on 0300 300 7807.

  • If you’re not receiving benefits, you must be between 16 – 24 years to take part in the Job Start Scheme. You should contact the Job Start Branch within the DfC on 0300 200 7807 to find out more.
