Nominate Your Young Hero!

Do you know an inspirational young person within the Borough who deserves to be recognised for their achievements?

Do you know an inspirational young person within the Borough who deserves to be recognised for their achievements? Do you know someone who selflessly gives of their time to make a difference? Then why not nominate them for this year’s Youth Awards?

Organised by Antrim and Newtownabbey Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP), this awards ceremony will highlight the outstanding achievements and valuable contribution made by many of our young people within our Borough.

Speaking at the launch of the awards, PCSP Chair Councillor Noreen McClelland commented; “I am delighted to launch the 2019 Youth Awards. As well as recognising young people who have excelled and had success in various fields, the awards will also recognise young people who have given a lot to their community or who have overcome adversity, difficulty or challenge.”

Councillor McClelland continues; “We look forward to raising the profile of young people within the Borough and I would encourage everyone to take a few minutes to fill out a nomination form. It might just help someone to get the recognition they deserve.”

The award categories include Heart of Gold, Sport Champion, The GRIT Award, Community Champion, Creativity, Entrepreneurship Award, Volunteer Champion and Youth Champion Award.

Nominations will close at 4pm on Thursday 28 February 2019. The awards ceremony will take place in Mossley Mill on Friday 29 March 2019 and will be hosted by Cool FM’s Pete Snodden.  Any young person aged 11-18years who lives within the Borough can be nominated for an award and anyone can nominate.

Nomination forms can be completed online or download.
