Almost £1M Funding to aid Borough’s Economic Recovery

To help aid the recovery of local businesses, Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has allocated almost £1M of funding for businesses across the retail and tourism sectors of the Borough. The various projects and schemes which are ongoing were jointly funded by Department for Communities (£507k), Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (£102k) and Department for Infrastructure (£363k).

A new campaign launched by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council in partnership with the PSNI, Chamber of Commerce and local retailers, highlights the significance of shopping local in the run up to Christmas and in particular, the importance of customer safety. The COVID Aware Campaign helps customers know participating businesses are putting necessary measures in place to ensure their safety.
