Antrim and Newtownabbey Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) is committed to ensuring that the Borough is a safer place for everyone who lives here. As part of this commitment, at the Council meeting on Monday night (24 February), a new contract was awarded for the provision of a Community Safety Warden Scheme.

The Community Safety Warden Scheme will help to address anti-social behaviour and crime across the Borough by having an on-street presence, patrolling areas to deter and address issues as they arise.

This scheme is just one of many measures outlined in the Antrim and Newtownabbey PCSP Strategic Plan 2019-2022 which aims to ‘Improve community safety by tackling actual and perceived crime and anti-social behaviour’.

Councillor Paul Dunlop, Chairman of the PCSP commented; “It’s important that both our businesses and residents feel that Antrim and Newtownabbey is a safe place to live and work. This Community Safety Warden Scheme will give us a presence on the ground tackling and gaining an understanding of the concerns of our residents. I welcome the support for this scheme and look forward to working with the new contractor.”

The scheme is currently operating and will now continue until March 2020.
