Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, in conjunction with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and Northern Regional College, is working with the Department for the Economy to support the first Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week, taking place from 3-7 February 2020.

Apprenticeships are growing in popularity as an alternative to further education for school leavers and graduates, as well as employed people and returners to work to help find suitable employment. Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week 2020 is a dedicated week of related events to show how apprenticeships can work for individuals, businesses, communities and the wider economy.

If you would like to get involved, contact the team at DFE by email at apprenticeweek@economy-ni.gov.uk
Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week provides the opportunity to find out more about apprenticeships. It will bring key partners together from local councils, employers, Further Education colleges, universities, private training providers and other apprenticeship partners within the sector, to raise the profile of the apprenticeship concept across Northern Ireland.

A dedicated Events Map is now available with a wide range of apprenticeship events already confirmed. Check out https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/campaigns/apprenticeship-events to see if there’s an event near you!

For local employers, there is a breakfast event on Thursday 6 February in The Braid Arts Centre. Click here for details
