Remembering Holocaust Memorial Day

Today, 27 January, is Holocaust Memorial Day and also marks 75 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

This annual event remembers the six million Jews who died in the Holocaust along with the millions of other peoples killed under Nazi persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

Watch as the Mayor Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman John Smyth, pays tribute to all lost who lost their lives in the Holocaust and other genocides and honours those who survived.
