Community & Voluntary Groups encouraged to apply for Council funding

Community Development & Festivals Grant Aid Programme for 2020/21 is now open 

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is delighted to announce that a second call for Community Development & Community Festivals Grant Aid Applications for 2020/21 is now open. 

Applications are invited from all constituted community and voluntary groups within the Borough for projects/activities taking place from 1 April 2020 – 31 March 2021. There are a range of grant streams available ranging from Summer Schemes to Community Festivals and Premises. The closing date for applications is 4pm on Friday 27 March 2020.  

The new Small Activity and/or Insurance Grant and Small Seeding and/or Insurance Grant Aid Programmes are also open for projects/activities taking place from 1 April 2020 – 31 March 2021. These programmes offer small grants up to £500 to successful applicants and are open on a rolling basis throughout the year. These grant aid programmes are part funded by the Department for Communities.  

For those groups wishing to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day a Special VE Day 75 Grant Aid Programme is now open. This grant fund is to support local community and voluntary organisations running VE Day 75 Commemorative events in their community. A maximum of £1000 funding is available for events being held during the period of 1-10 May 2020. The closing date for applications is 4pm on Friday 27 March 2020. 

Any group considering applying to the scheme is invited to come along to one of the information sessions to find out more about the funding and assessment criteria, as well as the application process.

•    Antrim Civic Centre, 50 Stiles Way, Antrim, BT41 2UB on Wednesday 11 March, 2-4pm 
•    Mossley Mill, Newtownabbey, BT36 5QA on Thursday 12 March, 6-8pm
