Local Schools bring cheer to the Borough!

Five schools from Antrim and Newtownabbey came together to take part in the Primary Schools Cheerleading Festival.  Janie Doherty, Everybody Active 2020 Sport NI National Lottery funded Dance Coach, organised the Primary School Cheerleading Festival in conjunction with UK Cheerleading Association. Janie has dedicated her time over the last few months visiting schools across the Borough choreographing and coaching pupils’ cheerleading routines which were showcased in the final last week at Antrim Forum Leisure Centre.

Janie Doherty, EBA Coach commented, “Congratulations to all of the schools who participated in the event and especially to the overall winners, St Joseph’s Primary School (Antrim) and Loanends Primary School who won the Team Spirit Award. This has been a fabulous event, showcasing excellent teamwork and superb routines from all of the participants. Well done to all of the children and schools who took part including, St Joseph’s Primary School (Crumlin), Greystone Primary School and Ballycraigy Primary School.”
