Attendees turned out to represent a variety of sectors, including; retail, ICT and manufacturing. Michael Johnston, Innovation Development Executive for Invest NI gave an overview of what it means to innovate, positive effects it can have on businesses, and addressed some of the misconceptions that exist around this concept.
Irvine Abraham, Enterprise and International Manager at Northern Regional College explained the services and roles that the College can provide to businesses, through direct assistance from graduates with specialist expertise and knowledge.
Nick Martin, an eBusiness Advisor with Invest NI specialises in eCommerce, and provided attendees with an overview of online marketplaces, including tips and advice for selling online and best utilising the vast multi-platforms that are available.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Paul Michael commented on the event;
This was a great opportunity for local businesses to come together and find out more about the importance of innovation directly from the experts.
