Celebrating our Volunteers

Community and Voluntary Christmas Celebration event

There was plenty of festive cheer at the Dunadry Hotel on Friday evening, as Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council hosted the annual Community and Voluntary Christmas Celebration.
The talented Men’s Shed, Steeple Antrim added musical magic to the evening as the 8 piece band entertained the guests. Representatives from TIDAL in Toomebridge and Monkstown Boxing Club shared with the crowd, examples of the amazing volunteering that goes on within their groups.  Guests included many of the community and voluntary representatives from right across the Borough, as well as the Deputy Lieutenant of County Antrim, Mr Edward Montgomery MBE.
The evening recognised the fabulous work that our volunteers do throughout the year and their contribution in making our Borough a better place to live, work and invest. Almost £1,300 was raised at the event for the Mayor’s chosen charities; Alzheimer’s Society and Cancer Fund for Children.
