New Musical Twisted set for Theatre at The Mill

Have you ever wondered what happened to Oliver Twist, the boy who wanted more?

Have you ever wondered what happened to Oliver Twist, the boy who wanted more?  ‘Twisted’ is an exciting new musical written by local musician, Esler Burke, aged 72 years young. After reading the book Oliver, Larne man Esler was curious as to why the character Edward Leeford did not appear in the film. His curiosity grew and this led him to investing all of his finances into this daring project.

An avid fan of Lionel Bart’s music, Esler believed there was an audience for this new musical. Esler, a well-known figure in the music scene, toured the country with his Irish showband ‘Springfield’ back in the seventies and is still gigging today. He is thrilled to have on board two of the best in the business, Wilson Shields and Mark Dougherty, who have embraced his idea and will lead on the Musical supervision and Orchestration.

‘Twisted’ will premiere at Theatre at The Mill from Wednesday 20 – Sunday 24 February, directed by Sarah Lyle and choreographed by Jennifer Milligan. ‘Twisted’ takes up the story of Dicken’s Oliver Twist fifteen years on. Oliver is now in his late twenties, the market place of his youth has changed little from when he first met and fell in love with Jane. Their happiness seems assured, however all is not as it first seems. Dark days lie ahead. Characters from their past come back into their lives but who can they trust? Who is out for revenge? Will their love stand the test of time?

‘Twisted’ is an intriguing continuation of the tale of Oliver and is guaranteed to have you on the edge of your seat as the story unfolds. Join us and be one of the first to experience this brand new Musical which will leave you wanting more!
