Planning Committee begin 2019 with a positive start

The Planning Committee of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has granted planning permission to Fermac Properties Ltd for a major new residential development at Randalstown Road, Antrim. The development will be made of 123 dwellings, comprising 79 detached and 44 semi-detached dwellings, including garages, open space with children’s play area and landscaping.

Outline planning permission was also granted to Comtec Developments (No.1) Ltd for a hotel and office development on the Church Road, Newtownabbey.

Following the decisions, Committee Chairman, Councillor Henry Cushinan commented: “I am delighted with the plans for these projects. The two developments represent a significant investment to the Borough, bringing high quality homes to Antrim and increasing our hotel provision in the urban part of the Borough, alongside new quality office accommodation.”

The new housing development will be situated on land at the former Enkalon site, Randalstown Road and the hotel development will be situated on land North of the Valley Leisure Centre.
