Have a ‘Happy Halloween’ in Antrim and Newtownabbey

Halloween is coming and we have lots of 'spooky goings on' organised for this year across the Borough!

Halloween is coming and we have lots of 'spooky goings on' organised for this year across the Borough!

Dust off your broomsticks and join us if you dare for the annual Halloween Spooktacular in partnership with The Junction Leisure and Retail Park on 24 October, 6-8pm. Bring your little ghosts and goblins along and have a fright of a night with Spark! Street Theatre, Lantern Making, Spooky Train Rides, Slime & Monster Soft Clay Workshops, Stiltwalkers, Fire Jugglers and not forgetting the fireworks* at 8pm.

Make sure you check out our new event this year, Magic by Moonlight at Lilian Bland Community Park on 26 October, 5.45-9pm. Join us for a fantastical family evening where you’ll be mesmerised by the bewitching world of the little folk who make a brief appearance on Halloween to trick and treat all that they meet! This event will feature an immersive fantasy trail around the park, fire entertainers, dance and street theatre performers, wand making, pumpkin carving, mask making as well as artisan stalls with themed food and drink. Fancy dress is a must with prizes galore including best dressed dog!

Grab your best fancy dress and prepare to be Spooked Out at V36 on 31 October, 6-8pm. We have lots of tricks and treats for you to enjoy including face painting, fire performers, Cool FM roadshow, fancy dress competition, fireworks* and much more! Screams and Tricks at V36 will also give you a fright from Friday 25 October until Thursday 31 October. Sensory Sunday will return on Sunday 27 October, 2-4pm where the lights and noise levels of the funfair will be adapted for children and adults with specific needs.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman John Smyth commented,

“Halloween is a great time of the year for families to enjoy. We have lots planned, including the return of our annual Spooked out at V36 and Halloween Spooktacular, as well as our new event, Magic by Moonlight. Wicked Walks also return to Mossley Mill and Antrim Castle Gardens, and our Halloween Sports Camps also provide the perfect opportunity to entertain the kids over the holidays. Make sure you visit our website for all the details.”
