The Coastguard Boat House is ‘Good to Go’

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman John Smyth showed his support to the reopening of the Tourism and Hospitality Sector with a visit to The Coastguard Boat House in Whiteabbey. The quiet retreat, located on Belfast Lough is now welcoming guests following Covid-19 and is one of the first businesses in Northern Ireland to be accredited with the Good to Go accreditation.

‘Good to Go’ is a free UK-wide accreditation which demonstrates that a business has followed Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and has a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman John Smyth said

“I am delighted that the hospitality sector has finally been given the green light to reopen. The Good to Go accreditation is a great way of providing reassurance to staff, customers and communities that safe working guidelines have been adopted. Covid-19 has had a detrimental impact on our Borough’s tourism and hospitality sector. As local accommodation providers start to reopen I would encourage everyone to book a staycation this summer and support local businesses.”
