Antrim Castle Gardens retains Excellent Tourism Grading Award

Antrim Castle Gardens and Clotworthy House has retained its ‘Excellent’ visitor attraction status under Tourism Northern Ireland’s Visitor Experience Grading Scheme

The Quality Grading Scheme awards a one to five star rating based on the level of quality a visitor can experience, where a score of 1 star is Acceptable, 2 star is Good, 3 star is Very Good, 4 star is Excellent and 5 star is Exceptional or World Class.

Described as a ‘superb attraction’, the Council is delighted to maintain the 4 star status for the facility which has been recognised with numerous previous awards including the prestigious Authentic Northern Ireland Experience of the Year (Site Based) at the Northern Ireland Tourism Awards 2019.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman John Smyth said “I welcome this great news and I am thrilled that we have kept our Excellent four star grading. Described as a ‘Jewel in the Crown of Antrim Town’, the Gardens and Clotworthy are steeped in history and have their own story to tell. Antrim Castle Gardens and Clotworthy House is a fantastic visitor attraction for young and old alike. With restrictions on meetings now relaxing further, if people want a special venue for a much needed catch-up with friends or family, why not make it an excellent and award-winning experience!”
