Earlier this year The Gateway Centre, nestled on the banks of Lough Neagh, received funding from the Department for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs and the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) through the Lough Neagh Landscape Partnership towards an interpretive display within the exhibition space.

After a competitive process, the award was made to Totalis Solutions who will transform the impressive exhibition space which enjoys stunning views across Lough Neagh with an installation that will capture the life and legends of the Lough in a vibrant display.

Lough Neagh is one of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough’s most valued Tourism assets, attracting thousands of visitors each year. The Gateway Centre which opened in December 2018, complements this visitor attraction and is home to the popular Boathouse Restaurant and The Slipway.

The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Cllr Jim Montgomery said “I am looking forward to seeing the progress of this exciting project at the Council’s newest visitor attraction. Lough Neagh is a unique natural beauty spot which attracts thousands of visitors to our Borough each year and I know this new interpretive display will enhance the visitor appeal and increase the Borough’s tourism offer”.
