The Art of Recovery exhibition launched as part of Mental Health Awareness Day

The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Jim Montgomery launched ‘The Art of Recovery’ exhibition at the Conservatory Gallery at Antrim Castle Gardens as part of Mental Health Awareness Day on Saturday 10 October 2020.
 

The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Jim Montgomery launched ‘The Art of Recovery’ exhibition at the Conservatory Gallery at Antrim Castle Gardens as part of Mental Health Awareness Day on Saturday 10 October 2020.
 
This exhibition is a showcase of works by artists from Action Mental Health, Antrim and will run daily until Thursday 29 October.
 
The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Jim Montgomery said “I am delighted to launch this exhibition by Action Mental Health. This local group New Horizons based in Antrim do phenomenal work with adults assisting recovering from mental ill-health. Our Mental Health is so important and particularly now during the Covid-19 pandemic, where so many people are suffering. It is invaluable to our community to have this support network available. I would invite you to visit this exhibition and see the incredible work on display.”
 
John Davis, Service Manager said “Action Mental Health is delighted to unveil our latest exhibition, ‘The Art of Recovery’ a selection of works by artists from AMH New Horizons, Antrim.  Drawing on the theme of mental health recovery, The Art of Recovery, combines client experience, creative talent and positivity to inspire others. Clients will showcase their talent in various mediums and styles including abstract, fine art, photography and pencil sketches.  AMH supports the recovery of adults experiencing mental ill-health through their “Working it Out” project.”
 
We invite you to come and visit ‘The Art of Recovery’ exhibition at Antrim Castle Gardens, whilst respecting social distancing and adhering to the Northern Ireland Executive guidelines.
 
Council will light up their three Civic Buildings purple on Saturday 10 October in support of Mental Health Awareness Day.
