Council launches a Colouring In-clusivity Book for Good Relations Week.

As part of Good Relations Week 2020, Celebrating Our Journey, Embracing our Future, Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has launched a Colouring In-clusivity Book based on Council events that have taken place across our Borough.

Good Relations Week is celebrated from 14-21 September with the aim to improve day-to-day relationships. Good Relations is about reducing all forms of prejudice, promoting equality and encouraging a society in which our own cultures and traditions as well as other people’s cultures and traditions are understood, respected and accepted.

The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Jim Montgomery visited a number of schools who are part of the Moving Forward Together Partnerships in Antrim and Newtownabbey, presenting the Colouring In-clusivity books, highlighting the significance of the Good Relations programme.

The Mayor commented “Our Borough includes people of different ages, races, religions and backgrounds, all adding to what makes Antrim and Newtownabbey a wonderful place to live, visit and play in. It is so important to build these relationships from an early age and it is really encouraging to see these interactions in the schools I have visited.”
