Randalstown Blooming Pleased to Represent Northern Ireland

Randalstown is set to represent Northern Ireland in the small town category at the upcoming 2022 Britain in Bloom competition, subject to Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) approval.  Randalstown has had major success over the years in a variety of competitions and most recently won the best small town category in the Ulster in Bloom competition.

How Age Friendly is our Borough?

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council will soon be releasing a consultation to assess how age friendly the Borough is.  The consultation will be based on the World Health Organisations eight domains of Age Friendly.  These are; Outdoor spaces and buildings, transportation, housing, social participation, respect and inclusion, civic participation and employment, communication and information and finally community support and health services.

Council support COVID-19 Booster Roll-out Clinics at Antrim Forum and Valley Leisure Centre

The Council is fully committed to supporting the roll out of the COVID-19 Booster jab and, the Valley Leisure Centre and the Antrim Forum will be used as booster vaccination centres.

City Deal secures £90 million Advanced Manufacturing investment for Newtownabbey

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has welcomed the signing of the Belfast Region City Deal which will see over £1 billion invested in the region over the next 10 years, with a core ambition to deliver more and better jobs through an inclusive growth agenda. The Council has worked collaboratively with Queen’s University to secure the most important and ambitious project within the Deal, the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC) project, which will result in an investment of £90 million at Global Point in Newtownabbey.
