The Council will light up their Civic buildings Red on Saturday 17 May to mark World Haemophilia Day 2021.

There are three main forms of Haemophilia – Haemophilia A, B and C, it is usually an inherited bleeding disorder in which the blood does not clot properly. This can lead to spontaneous bleeding as well as bleeding following injuries or surgery.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Councillor Jim Montgomery said “I am pleased the Council are supporting this campaign. The COVID-19 pandemic has made it a very difficult year for everyone and particularly those living with a form of Haemophilia.”
