Following the recent easing of restrictions announced by the Northern Ireland Executive, Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has confirmed the reopening of fitness suites and swimming pools within its leisure centres from Friday 30th April.

Due to current social distancing protocols, bookings must be made online and are available from 6am, 7 days in advance through the Council’s website or AN Borough App.

As well as welcoming back our existing members, we are also delighted to welcome new members, with our leisure membership offering fantastic value for money and what’s more there is no payment until 1st June.

Golfers can also get into the swing this spring with golf courses and driving ranges at Allen Park and Ballyearl now open. 3G and synthetic pitches across the Borough as well as the Athletics Track at Antrim Stadium have also reopened.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Jim Montgomery commented,

“Now that spring is in the air and the longer days are well and truly here, it’s time to get MORE Active, MORE Often. It’s been a challenging time for us all, both physically and mentally and we are just as excited as you are to see our leisure centres reopen. Our leisure centres offer something for everyone and for just £1.30 a day, our membership is great way to get all of the family, MORE active. We have robust measures in place across all of our leisure centres to ensure your safety at all times. I’d like to thank you all for your patience during this uncertain time and hope to see you all at our leisure facilities again soon.”
