Saturday Sessions continue in aid of the Mayor's Charities

Grab those dancing shoes and tune in to the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council Facebook or YouTube channels this Saturday night at 8pm as ‘Cultural Lounge Saturday Sessions’ continue.
 
The fabulous Matt and Michelle of Rock ‘n Roll band, ‘The Soda Popz’ will be guaranteed to get your toes tapping and your hips shaking as they entertain you with their authentic tribute to the best hits from the 50s and 60s. 
 
‘Cultural Lounge Saturday Sessions’, a series of free virtual music performances in aid of the Mayor’s charities, kicked off two weekends ago when local jazz and swing artist Conor Taggart brought us his tribute to Michael Bublé, followed by the hugely talented singer-songwriter Amanda St John who entertained us with her soulful vocals last weekend.
 
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Jim Montgomery said;

“I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to the artists over the last few weekends and am looking forward to this Saturday night’s performance. I want to thank all those who have already donated to my charities and encourage everyone who is tuning in this Saturday night to donate whatever they can to support the work of Air Ambulance and Guide Dogs NI. Unfortunately raising funds has been extremely difficult in the current climate and I know these charities will appreciate every penny that is donated.”

 
“We are blessed with a wealth of local musical talent and as well as raising vital funds, these virtual performances provide a platform for these artists to enjoy entertaining a crowd during what has been an extremely difficult period for their industry. Cultural Lounge Saturday Sessions will culminate with a weekend performance on Friday 12 February from the Lowry Quarantine Quartet, with Peter Corry bringing down the curtain on Saturday 13 February.
