Join us live on Facebook this Saturday evening as we kick-start ‘Cultural Lounge Saturday Sessions’ - the first in our series of free virtual music performances in aid of the Mayor’s nominated charities. Local jazz and swing artist Conor Taggart will be bringing his tribute to Michael Bublé right to the comfort of our homes. Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Jim Montgomery said;
“During my term as Mayor, I am supporting the work of two charities, both of which are very close to my heart; Air Ambulance and Guide Dogs NI. Unfortunately raising funds has been extremely difficult in the current climate and so I would encourage you to tune in over the next few weekends and enjoy these fantastic performances while helping me raise some much needed funds.”
“We are blessed with a wealth of local musical talent and as well as raising vital funds, these virtual performances will provide a platform for these artists to enjoy entertaining a crowd during what has been an extremely difficult period for their industry.”
Cultural Lounge Saturday Sessions will run for 4 weeks and will feature; Amanda St John on Saturday 30 January, Michelle and Matt Baird on Saturday 6 February and the series will culminate with a weekend performance on Friday 12 February from the Lowry Quarantine Quartet, with Peter Corry bringing down the curtain on Saturday 13 February. The performances will be live streamed on our Facebook page at 8pm – simply visit the page to tune in or visit www.facebook.com/ANBorough/live Donations can be made online at www.antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk/mayorscharities
