Summer Scheme Entertainment at Hill Croft Special Needs School

Pupils at Hill Croft School in Newtownabbey have been spoilt for choice during their Special Needs Summer Scheme with a range of entertaining activities and resources, thanks to a £5000 grant from Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.

The pupils have been enjoying messy play with shaving foam and pasta, fun with piñatas, arts and crafts, rock painting and much more!  They have also been able to hire entertainers and purchase a range of bikes for the children to enjoy.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Councillor Billy Webb visited Hill Croft and said

“It was brilliant to see how creative the staff and children could be by creating play from simple items, it was lovely to see how much fun they were having”.

Linzi Blair, Summer Scheme Leader in Charge said

“Due to Covid, items that were once multiple use, can now only be used once.  This has had a huge impact on our costs and without the grant from Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, we would not have been able to provide the same amount or quality of activities for the children.
