Plant a Tree for the Jubilee

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is inviting residents across the Borough to join them and ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’ to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022.  This UK wide programme will see millions of trees planted across the region from October 2021, when the tree planting season begins, through to the end of the Jubilee year in 2022 and is designed to highlight the importance of trees to the environment.

Council joins forces with McDonalds to tackle litter issue

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is joining forces with fast food giant McDonalds to help tackle the issue of takeaway litter across the Borough. As part of their 30 years in Northern Ireland celebrations, McDonalds has committed to a ’30 Parks in 30 Days’ campaign which will see their employees undertake 30 litter clean-ups in parks and nature areas across Northern Ireland throughout the 30 days of June.
