Riverside School Awarded Funding for Special Needs Summer Scheme

Riverside School awarded £5000 funding to support their Summer Scheme. 

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is delighted to award Riverside School in Antrim £5000 funding to support their Summer Scheme, which caters for children and young people with special needs.

Riverside School have planned a varied programme of activities this year, including Jungle Pets, Mini Me Yoga, Replay Theatre Company and Rich Music.  They also plan to purchase some new electronic and play equipment which they will be able to use during future academic years.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Billy Webb said

“Riverside School will put this funding to good use with a range of activities and equipment planned.  I know the children will truly benefit by attending this special Summer Scheme”.

Caitlin McCann, teacher in charge of Summer Scheme said

“We are very appreciative to receive this grant as I know it will be of great benefit to our pupils, not only during the scheme but long after it too”.
