Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Jim Montgomery encourages everyone to take part in the National Day of Reflection.
Tuesday 23 March is the Marie Curie National Day of Reflection, the first anniversary of the first UK lockdown. A chance for us to reflect on our collective loss, support those who've been bereaved, and hope for a brighter future. The campaign encourages us to Reflect by joining the nation in a minute’s silence at 12 noon, Connect reach out to someone who has been affected or bereaved and Support by shining a light or lighting a candle at 8pm. The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Jim Montgomery will observe a minute’s silence at noon on Tuesday 23 March, a personal gesture to honour those who have lost their lives. The Mayor commented
“I would encourage the public to show their support and to participate in the National Day of Reflection. COVID-19 has inflicted so much loss and pain globally we must all remember the hundreds of thousands who have lost their lives and have hope for brighter days ahead.”
In addition, the Mayor will tie a single yellow ribbon to a tree at both Mossley Mill and Antrim Castle Gardens to remember all those who have died. For more details and how to support this National Day of Reflection please visit https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/get-involved/day-of-reflection
