Yesterday’s ribbon cutting ceremony was charged with happy emotions and the hope for a great year ahead when everybody will be able to make up for the fun and time with friends sacrificed under continuous lockdowns. The new indoor family entertainment centre has been much anticipated not only by the Airtastic staff and management, but also by the community in Newtownabbey that welcomed the news of the new Airtastic Centre opening date.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Jim Montgomery was present at the opening and said:

"I am delighted to be part of the official opening of Airtastic in Newtownabbey today. Having experienced this facility first-hand, I would like to congratulate all of the staff who have worked hard to get it ready for the opening. The design and overall presentation of the centre is fantastic and I am very impressed. Due to the recent lockdowns, children haven't been able to get out and about as much and it is great that we now have this state-of-the-art facility right on our doorstep, which I am sure all of the kids will be excited about. This is a fantastic addition to the leisure provision across the Borough and I have no doubt that many families will enjoy hours of endless fun here. I wish Airtastic all the best in this new venture, which I am sure will be a great success."

Sharyn Ingrey, Area Manager for Airtastic Entertainment Centres said:

“I am so proud of the staff and the management team here in Newtownabbey who worked hard to prepare the centre to receive children and adults alike in safety and so thankful to all the contractors and builders who did an amazing job in making this centre look fantastic and ready or this moment. Now that we have opened the doors, the effort is forgotten but very much appreciated and we all here at Airtastic are looking forward to welcoming happy customers. We’re wearing face masks but also big smiles underneath.”

There is still more to come at Airtastic Newtownabbey later in June when a brand-new soft play centre will open upstairs, featuring a huge play frame with all the exciting slides, crawl tubes and obstacles as well as learn through play areas, toddler area and great party rooms. With the soon to open Soft Play centre, 6 amazing adventures are waiting for you under the same roof at Airtastic Newtownabbey – Inflata, Bowling, Mini Golf, Amusements, Soft Play and Restaurant. Combined with the other 4 Airtastic centres located in Bangor, Belfast, Craigavon and Cork, Airtastic is now one of the largest leisure operators across Ireland providing the best entertainment to a wide range of customers of all ages.
