Year 9 pupils across Northern Ireland are to be invited to take part in a free pilot programme named 4C Your Future Live, sponsored by local Councils.  This is a fast-paced and action-packed careers inspiration event which features work-based games and skills-based challenges.  This event, launched by 4C Your Future has been developed in collaboration with local employers.

4C Your Future is an industry-led social enterprise, seeking to engage, inform, and inspire young people to make more empowered education and career choices through their innovative Careers Portal and interactive in-person and online events.  It aims to target 7,500 year 9 pupils in 2022 scaling up to 23,000 participants in 2023 and 26,000 in 2024.

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council will be contributing £6000 to the programme and providing an additional £4000 directly to schools to facilitate transport to and from the event.  This means it will be completely free to the schools who participate.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Billy Webb commented

“I fully support the ambition of 4C Your future which is to engage, inform, and inspire every young person in Northern Ireland to help them become the best version of themselves.  I am delighted the Council is backing this initiative which I feel will provide vital life lessons and personal feedback for our young people, helping them to understand the needs of employers and to think about career pathways”.
