The Council will support over 50 local groups with more than £24,000 of funding to deliver a Christmas programme for our Senior Citizens.
The Council will support over 50 local groups with more than £24,000 of funding to deliver a Christmas programme for our Senior Citizens. The Senior Citizens Christmas Event grant opened earlier this year inviting all groups wishing to host an event to apply.
The funding received will help many groups deliver a programme of Christmas activities and support for our elderly which include;
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Councillor Billy Webb said
“Our elderly have suffered greatly during the past 18 months with many being isolated from their families and friends. For some, these community engagements are a lifeline and I am pleased that the Council is able to support so many groups this year”.
