Spirit of Christmas Awards 2021

Help us spread some Christmas cheer and identify the amazing work that is carried out in our communities as we invite you to nominate for the ‘Spirit of Christmas Awards 2021.

 

Help us spread some Christmas cheer and identify the amazing work that is carried out in our communities as we invite you to nominate for the ‘Spirit of Christmas Awards 2021. The Council want to promote some Christmas Spirit across the Borough and recognise the efforts made by Local Businesses, Schools, Churches, Community and Voluntary Groups at this special time of year. The awards will fall under the following categories;

  • Light Up Award – Best Lit Town/Village.  The wider community working together to create the best lit town/village within the Borough. 
  • Local Light Up Award – Best Lit Street. Neighbours working together to create the best lit street within the Borough.
  • Rockin Around the Christmas Tree Award.  Best programme of festive entertainment within a business or community setting.     
  • Reason for the Season Award.  The most festive school, church or community facility.     
  • The Making an Entrance Award.  The best dressed entrance feature or shop front.
  • Traditional Christmas Award.  Recognising acts of goodwill during the festive season.     
  • North Star Award.  Most outstanding Christmas Display in the Borough.       

Nominations for the ‘Spirit of Christmas Awards 2021’ will open online at  antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk/spiritofchristmas on Monday 15 November 2021 and will close on Friday 10 December 2021 at 4pm. Winners for each category will be awarded on Friday 17 December 2021.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Councillor Billy Webb said: “I am delighted Council are running these awards and recognising the great work carried out throughout our communities. I look forward to seeing the entries and I would urge you all to nominate and help spread some festive joy this Christmas."
