Fun at Council’s Sensory Play Sessions

Children from across the Borough enjoyed free sensory play sessions at Lillian Bland Community Park, Newtownabbey and Antrim Loughshore. Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council organised the fun-filled morning and afternoon play sessions with the support of Sensory Play NI.

The inclusive event attracted over 30 children of all ages and abilities who got moving by chasing bubbles and enjoyed messy play using paints and foam. A second day of fun will be held on Tuesday 23 August from 11am – 12.30pm at Lilian Bland and 2.30pm – 4pm at Antrim Loughshore. Mobile changing places facility will be available at both locations during the sessions.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Alderman Stephen Ross said:

The sensory play sessions are a fantastic way to get kids of all abilities to have fun together and get moving. If you missed the first session, a second event will be held on 23 August and I’d encourage people to come along for a great day of fun before the kids go back to school!

Booking is not required on Tuesday 23 August, for more information about the free Sensory Messy Play sessions, visit www.antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk/events
