Planning permission has been approved for a new MOT Vehicle Test Centre in Mallusk
Planning permission has been approved for a new MOT Vehicle Test Centre in Mallusk by Antrim and Newtownabbey Planning Committee.
This new 4080 square meter premises at Craigarogan Business Park will employ up to 41 employees and represents a capital investment of £9.7 M for the Borough.
The new state of the art premises will have nine lanes in total – seven for cars and two for HGV allowing for over 400 tests each day.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman Stephen Ross said:
“I welcome this major investment by the Driver & Vehicle Agency NI for our Borough. Vehicle Testing Centres have been under immense pressure to meet the demands for tests following COVID, and the increased capacity of this new site will help address this issue.”
Chair of Antrim and Newtownabbey Planning Committee Alderman Dr Fraser Agnew MBE, said:
“This is great news for the Borough, this multi-million investment will contribute to the Councils plans for £1bn investment and the creation of 2500 high paid jobs by 2025.”
