The Council will light up their Civic Buildings red this evening to mark Chinese New Year also known as the Lunar New Year. An annual 15-day festival celebrated in China and Chinese communities around the world, 2022 is the Year of The Tiger which is associated with bravery, willpower and strength.
The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey said
“On this first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Tiger, I wish to extend warmest greetings to the Chinese people, both here in the Borough, and in China. I wish them, and their family and friends, health, wealth, and good fortune.”
