Approval for multi-million pound Doagh housing scheme

Plans for a major housing development in Doagh have been given the go-ahead by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.

A total of 43 dwellings - including 34 semi-detached homes and nine detached – are to be built on the northern edge of the village, opposite Mill Green. Access to the new development will be from Mill Road.

The application by Kenny Homes represents an investment of between £8m-£9m, with up to 40 construction jobs to be created.

Chair of the Planning Committee, Alderman Fraser Agnew said:

“I am pleased that planning permission has been granted for this new investment in Doagh, which will help attract new residents to our Borough and provide a boost to the local economy.”

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Alderman Stephen Ross added:

“This is welcome news and represents another step towards the Council achieving its target of securing £1bn of investment to the Borough by 2025.”
