Mayor’s Spring Ball raises £10k for Charity

Theatre at The Mill was awash with colour as Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman Stephen Ross hosted the Mayor’s Spring Ball. Elected Members, businesses from across the Borough and representatives from the Mayor’s three charities attended the fundraising event which raised a superb £10,000 for the Mayor’s three charities: NI Children’s Hospice, Men’s Advisory Project and Positive Life. 

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman Stephen Ross commented, “I would like to thank the fantastic businesses and people who have shown their support for my three chosen charities, some of whom purchased tickets for the Mayor’s Spring Ball and some of whom aren’t here tonight but have made donations or provided prizes. The Mayor’s Spring Ball is all about recognising the fabulous work the charities do as well as raising some much needed funds for them to be able to do this work and £10,000 is a great amount that I am extremely proud of raising. 

“I am also delighted to officially open my online auction. The auction has some fantastic items up for grabs and I would encourage everyone to submit a bid and help show your support for NI Children’s Hospice, Men’s Advisory Project and Positive Life.”   

Some of the auction items available include: 

• A Night’s stay at Grand Central Hotel
• VIP at Linfield including Vice Presidents Box and Premium seats 
• Signed Ulster Rugby Top
• Overnight stay for 2 people with breakfast at the 5* Grand Central Hotel 
• 2 night stay with breakfast at Holiday Inn Antrim, pair of Garden Show Ireland tickets and signed Diarmuid Gavin Book
• A suite holding 16 to watch a Belfast Giants Ice Hockey Game when the new 2023/24 season starts 
• Signed Ulster Rugby Ball 
• Three Course Meal for 20 at Antrim’s Top of The Town
