Seniors’ Christmas Events Grant Fund Reopens for 2023

With Christmas fast approaching, now is the right time to put plans in place for the holiday festivities. Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s Seniors’ Christmas Events Grant Fund which is opening on Monday 4 September provides constituted groups up to £500 for Seniors’ events being held over the festive period.

Constituted community/voluntary, church groups and tenant’s associations representing independent living facilities can apply for up to £500 for Christmas events being held between Friday 17 November and Monday 25 December. This may include provision of Christmas Dinners, Tea Dances or Christmas Celebration Events.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Mark Cooper said, "The Seniors’ Christmas Events Grant Fund is a wonderful opportunity for our local organisations to come together and create memorable moments for our seniors at Christmas time. We encourage local community and voluntary groups to embrace this opportunity and apply for funding support to arrange Christmas events that will foster the community spirit across the Borough."

To apply for the grant visit antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk/grants from Monday 4 September at 12noon. The grant will close on Thursday 21 September at 4pm.
