Council Grants Fit for a King

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has launched a Special Event Grant for celebration events surrounding the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort. This grant aid programme for the Coronation, which is due to take place on Saturday 6 May 2023, is now open for applications.

This grant programme aims to provide the opportunity for local constituted community and voluntary groups within the Borough who wish to celebrate the Coronation to seek funding to assist them with their community celebration events. Events must take place between the period Friday 5 and Monday 8 May 2023. It would be preferable for the event to take place on Sunday 7 May but this is not essential.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman Stephen Ross said, “I encourage constituted community and voluntary groups to avail of this grant fund to mark this momentous occasion in history. This is a fantastic opportunity to come together and celebrate as a community.”

The application form for this fund is available through the Online Funding Hub under the Special Event Grant tab: https://antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk/grants. Applications will close on Tuesday 28 February 2023 at 4pm. Non constituted groups, including residents and nursing homes will be able to avail of street party packs to host Coronation parties within the Borough.  For any queries or further information on this fund please email kerry.brady@antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk or jonathan.henderson@antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk
