The APSE Service awards celebrate excellence in public service delivery across the UK, and ANBC has made a remarkable impact, being the only Council from Northern Ireland to be shortlisted as finalists this year. This recognition highlights the Council’s commitment to delivering exceptional services and initiatives across the Borough.

The Council is honoured to be recognised in such diverse categories reflecting the broad scope of its services and the innovation, dedication and perseverance shown by the Teams.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Neil Kelly, commented on the nominations;
“Being named finalists in so many categories is an incredible achievement for our Council and it is fantastic for our staff’s efforts to be acknowledged. To be the only Northern Ireland Council to achieve this level of recognition at the APSE Awards is a testament to the community and business focused approach that drives the Council’s efforts and we are excited to find out the results next month.”
The winners will be announced at the APSE Annual Charity Awards Dinner, in aid of Parkinson’s UK, in Bristol on 12 September 2024. The shortlist for the esteemed ‘Overall Council of the Year’ is still under deliberation and will be announced at a later date.
The ceremony promises to be a celebration of public service excellence, bringing together local authorities and their public-sector partners across the UK.
