Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress launch fundraising walk for charity.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Councillor Neil Kelly has offered his support to Deputy Mayor Councillor Paul Dunlop BEM and Deputy Mayoress Mrs Heather Dunlop, who will be walking from Antrim Civic Centre to Mossley Mill on Monday 2 September to help raise funds for Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support (Antrim Area Hospital).

The two charities are very special to Paul and Heather whose families have previously availed of the help and support, they provide, and now they want to give something back.

Speaking at today’s launch, the Mayor said; ”I offer my full support to the Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress, Paul, and Heather, for their charity walk. These charities are essential for our communities, I applaud them for their efforts and wish them every success on the day”.

Deputy Mayor Cllr Paul Dunlop added; “Heather and I have often talked about how we would like to support these fantastic charities and this year seemed the perfect time for us, adding another significant achievement to the year we got married and I was nominated for the role of Deputy Mayor.

“We know first hand the support and care both these charities provide, and we want to help in any small way to raise vital funds which allows them to continue to support families across Northern Ireland.”

The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will start their journey from Antrim Civic Centre on Monday 2 September at 9.30am and will walk to Mossley Mill.
