Mayor Hosts Reception for SuperCupNI Players at Antrim Castle Gardens Ahead of Final

The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Neil Kelly, hosted a reception at Antrim Castle Gardens for teams competing in this week’s SuperCupNI Girls’ Tournament.

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has welcomed 14 Premier and Junior Girls’ teams in the girls' sections of the prestigious international youth tournament. The highly anticipated Premier League Finale between Manchester United and Northern Ireland is set to take place on Friday, 26 July, at Dixon Park at 2pm.

In attendance at the reception were 150 players from teams including Premier League teams Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Manchester United; League of Ireland teams Galway United and Athlone Town; and local Irish League team Crusaders.

The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Neil Kelly, commented, "This event has brought together so many talented footballers, and I’m delighted that the tournament has been so successful. Good luck to all the players competing in the finals across the borough."
