Garden Show Ireland’s ‘Really Rubbish Scarecrows’ are at their new home at Dobbies in Antrim who were one of the sponsors of the annual festival of flowers, food and fun!
The scarecrows were created by local primary schools from recycled materials. The categories and winners:
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Neil Kelly commented, “I am delighted that our beloved scarecrows have found a new home. While we will miss them, they are in good hands and only a few minutes from Antrim Castle Gardens, to be visited at any time!”
Jenny Campbell from Dobbies Antrim, who judged the Really Rubbish Scarecrow competition said, “I was really pleased to take part in the judging of the Really Rubbish Scarecrow competition and was very impressed by the entries on display. The primary school pupils did an excellent job of creatively using recycled materials to create art and learn valuable lessons about recycling. Community engagement is so important to us at Dobbies and we would welcome all our customers to visit the store and see the fantastic scarecrows for themselves.”
Garden Show Ireland celebrates horticulture and creativity, bringing together gardeners, families, and schools in a vibrant display of nature and art.
